Whew!

We've had some fantastic entries in for this year's Christmas writing competition. It was really great to see a wide range of interpretations of our prompt: Christmas day in the past.

We had everything from heartwarming family messages, to horror, to a lesson in history set to a thrilling narrative voice.

It was a truly tough call, but we have now decided our winner: a huge congratulations to Shaun Whittaker, from Lancaster Royal Grammar School, with his entry about having to adjust firstly to moving home, and then to being dropped into another family's chaotic Christmas dinner, over a century ago.

Well done Shaun!

And a massive thank you to all of our entrants. We truly hope you'll keep on writing, and sending us more of your work.
